Talking about this, Akhtar Hussain, the Officer-in-Charge of Palong Model Police Station told Aalo that the accused was earlier taken into police custody from the jail administration. He was taken to Shariatpur in the custody of Ghazipur district police. Only the members of Palong police station helped him. In view of security, the accused was handcuffed.
Salim Raza’s brother Shamim Munshi said, ‘Salim works as a head teacher in a school in Dhaka. He is involved in politics. He was never involved in any sabotage. Police have arrested several workers of BNP and its sister bodies ahead of the party’s December 10 rally.”
“We requested the police to remove his handcuffs and leg shackles, but they did not listen,” he said.
