He said the BNP-Jamaat faction has made repeated attempts to sabotage the elections in 2014 and 2018.
“But they failed,” he said, adding that this time too the same thing happened to them because people participated in the elections spontaneously.
The Prime Minister said, for BNP, to sabotage the elections is to burn people and damage public and private properties.
He said, “Those who have humanity cannot kill people by burning them.”
He said that it does not matter if some political parties do not participate in the elections, but what matters is the public’s participation.
The Prime Minister said, “If people do not want to see the Awami League in power, we will follow their mandate.”
“The people had ousted the BNP government within one and a half months because they had taken power through rigged elections held on February 15, 1996,” he said.
He had tried to come to power in 2006 through manipulation by including 12.3 million fake voters in the voter list and his attempt was thwarted by the people of the country.
“The people of Bangladesh never accept any injustice,” he said.
The Prime Minister reiterated his pledge to transform Bangladesh into a developed, prosperous and smart country by 2041.
