Awami League Chairperson and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Sunday said that it will not be easy for BNP and others to topple the Awami League government through agitation.
They can plot more and more against the government, the Prime Minister said.
He said, ‘BNP had started the movement a few days ago to topple the government. Is it that simple? Rather, the AL’s ability (to pull off such a movement).”
The Prime Minister was addressing a discussion organized by Bangladesh Awami League (AL) at Krishibid Institute in Farmgate area of Dhaka on the occasion of Victory Day.
AL chairperson Sheikh Hasina, who presided over the discussion, said that her party had ousted Ayub Khan, Yahya Khan after a “voterless election” on February 15, 1996, defeating Mukti Sangram, HM Ershad and Khaleda Zia, along At the same time they had failed. The BNP plans to hold an election (22 January 2007) with “fake voters”.
“When the AL is in power, yeah, they can just plot,” he said.
