Police have opened the roads in Naya Paltan area after blocking it for hours by calling it a ‘crime scene’.
The roads from Nightingale intersection to Fakirapul were opened for the movement of people at around 4 pm on Thursday.
Clashes took place at this spot on Wednesday in which one BNP worker was killed and dozens were injured.
In addition, the police detained hundreds of leaders and workers, including Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, senior joint general secretary of the BNP from Naya Paltan.
Meanwhile, just after the roads were opened, BNP leaders and workers are trying to assemble at Naya Paltan without raising slogans or taking out processions. Although the police are still patrolling the area.
