The picturesque Marine Drive road was constructed in 2017, connecting Sabrang Zero Point to the city of Cox’s Bazar district. It attracted local and foreign tourists to enjoy the beauty of the coastal area.
But the iconic 80-km road was recently severely damaged at about 15 points in a two-km stretch at Sabrang due to astronomical tides and high sea waves. In some places, the road went into the sea, while more than 50 roadside trees fell into the sea ditch.
