Price doubled at retail market

Price rises indiscriminately at Khulna. Khulna city Corporation took 11 steps to make the price stable. They decided to keep the difference of retail and wholesale price between 5tk to 7 tk. But in reality it is 10 to 35tk in market. Price differs from market  to market. Even price differs in the same market. There is no government control over market and no updated price list. These are reported after surveying 3 markets on Friday. Price in the retail market is double or more than compared to wholesale market. Green pepper sales at 40-60tk,pumpkin sales at 20tk,potato sale at 22tk,papaya 22-25tk,cucumber 25tk,dry pepper 170-200tk,onion 35-40tk,ginger 160tk,tomato 60-80tk.Buyer Eyashin Haoladar said price of necessary commodities Is very high. Moreover there are different price at different shops.General secretary of CDA Newmarket Shek Maudur Rahman said there is no updated price list in the market is true but he has said personally to every shopkeepers to hang price list. He will help heartily to punish those who don’t hang the price list. Convener of City Corporation market Monitoring Committee Moshiuzzaman Khan said next day we would survey the market with Mayor and then take necessary steps.
