Prices are being fixed at the discretion of traders

In the last one year, the taka has depreciated 20 per cent against the US dollar. Soybean, for example, was priced at $850 a ton two years ago, but is now selling at $1,150 a ton.

Soybean price should be slightly higher than the previous figure. But now it is being sold at very high prices. What does it mean? This indicates that traders are making extra profits and have become overly greedy.
