Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today handed over the country's highest national civilian award “Independence Awards-2024” (Independence Awards-2024) to 10 eminent individuals for their outstanding contributions in their respective fields at the national level.
He distributed the awards among the recipients at a ceremony at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium here this morning.
Brave freedom fighters Qazi Abdur Sattar, Bir Prateek, Flight Sergeant Mohammad Fazlul Haq (posthumously) and Martyr Abu Naeem Mohammad Najeeb Uddin Khan (Khurram) (posthumously) received the award in the 'Freedom and Liberation War' category.
Mubarak Ahmed Khan was honored in the science and technology category, while Harishankar Dash was honored in the medical category, Mohammad Rafiquzzaman in the cultural category, Firozha Khatoon in sports, and Aron Chiran, brave freedom fighter, Professor Molla Obaidullah Baqi and SM Abraham Lincoln.
