Play on the third day of the second and final Test between Bangladesh and New Zealand in Dhaka started late on Friday after four sessions of play was abandoned due to rain.

Daryl Mitchell on 12 and Glenn Phillips on five opened the batting with New Zealand at 55-5 at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium.

Stumps were declared without a single ball being bowled after a day of rain on Thursday and it rained overnight.
