Law minister Anisul Huq on Thursday said the killers of teenage boy Sheikh Samiul Alam Rajon will be tried in a speedy trial tribunal. “He have discussed with prime minister”, he said at the inaugural ceremony of foundation training for judges at the Judicial Administration Training Institute in the city. He also said, the Home Minister informed him that police will submit charge sheet in the Rajon killing case as soon as possible. They were taking steps to complete the trial at the quickest possible time.
Minister said, “he want to make a footstep so that no one can think to do such a activity again.”
On 8 July, 13-year-old boy Sheikh Samiul Alam Rajon, son of Sheikh Azizur Rahman of Badeali in Sylhet, was tortured to death on a charge of theft at Sundar Ali Market in Kumargaon area of Sylhet city. The killers themselves took the video footage of the incident and uploaded it on the internet which triggered a widespread outcry.
