‘Torn Flesh’
At the Maghaji refugee camp in Gaza, where the health ministry said Israeli forces killed at least 47 people in an early Sunday attack in the Hamas-run enclave, people searched for victims or survivors.
“All night long I and others were trying to pull out the dead from the debris. We found children, mutilated, torn flesh,” said Saeed al-Nejma, 53. He said he was sleeping with his family at the time of the blast. Hit his neighborhood.
Asked for comment, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said they were gathering details.
In a separate attack, 21 Palestinians from the same family, including women and children, were killed, the health ministry said. The IDF declined to comment.
Reuters could not independently verify these accounts.
“We demand that you immediately stop them from committing these crimes,” Abbas told Blinken, urging an “immediate ceasefire” with Israel.
WAFA news agency quoted Abbas as saying that Palestinians were facing a war of “genocide and destruction”.
