Deputy Defense Minister Ganna Malayar claimed instead that Ukrainian troops were advancing “on the flanks in the suburbs”, which would “make it very difficult for the enemy to be in Bakhmut”.
He said Ukrainian troops had “encircled the city halfway”, adding that Ukraine was still in control of a residential area and some industrial facilities.
