At the invitation of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), Government of India, noted Bangladeshi dancers Shibli Mohammad, Shamim Ara Nipa, and Anisul Islam Hero, will visit New Delhi, Kolkata and Guwahati from October 23-29, 2011, to participate in the 2nd International Dance Festival being organized by ICCR.
The 2nd International Dance Festival will comprise Indian classical dance forms and will have the participation of almost all prominent Indian classical dancers of the world. During the festival, Shibli Mohammad and Shamim Ara Nipa (Kathak dancers) and Anisul Islam Hero (Bharatnatyam dancer) from Bangladesh will perform “Jugalbandi” of Kathak and Bharatnatyam conceived on unique compositions.
The Bangladesh dance group will perform at the Kamani Auditorium in New Delhi on October 25 and subsequently in Guwahati on October 28 and in Kolkata on October 29. They will also take part at a lecture-cum-demonstration at a prominent school in Bharatnatyam on October 26. The visit is being sponsored by the Government of India.
