Proteas captain Aiden Markram said his team had crossed the psychological barrier with the win over the Dutch side after their previous big defeat.

“We knew they were always going to come up against us,” Markram said. “It's a game of cricket, after all. The history before this game was obviously that they had beaten us. It's a mental block – and today we were under pressure again.”

Earlier, Ottneil Bartman's brilliant four-wicket haul helped South Africa restrict the Netherlands to a paltry 103/9.

Bartman took 4 wickets for 11 runs in four overs, while Marco Jansen and Anrich Nortje took two wickets each to keep the Dutch batsmen on the backfoot.
