The Bangladesh Students League, a wing of the ruling party, detained five opposition supporters at Dhaka University and beat them before taking them to the police station.
On Saturday, members of the Awami League student union detained 10-12 people in two phases in front of the entrance of the university. Before attacking him, they checked his mobile phone for evidence of his support for the BNP.
