In his speech, Mirza Abbas criticised the recent hike in fuel prices, and said rising commodity prices are already affecting lives. “A further increase of 2.5 taka per litre in fuel price paves the way for further increase in commodity prices. This impacts all sectors.”
The BNP leader alleged that the present government has established an empire of robbers.
He said, “We have heard about 'Bargis' (robbers) who used to come, loot and disappear. Now, 'Bargis' rule here. They do not run away after looting but take the looted wealth abroad.”
