A burst of top-order batting took Sri Lanka to 314-4 and firmly took command of the second and final Test against Bangladesh on Saturday.

In Chittagong, Kusal Mendis top scored with 93 runs while opener Dimuth Karunaratne (86) and Nishan Madushka (57) strengthened the innings.

At the time of stumps, Dinesh Chandimal was playing on 34 runs and captain Dhananjay de Silva was playing on 15 runs.

Bangladesh struggled to make an impact after being invited to bowl, while Sri Lanka batted without losing any wickets in the morning session.
