Two doctors were stabbed in Rajshahi

Two government doctors were stabbed in two separate incidents in Rajshahi Medical College Hospital and Kazihata areas yesterday.

Dr Niranjan Chandra Bosak of Pathology department in Bogra Shaheed Zia Medical College Hospital and Dr Masrur Hossain, medical officer of Sapahar Health Complex of Naogaon were admitted to RMCH.

According to Porimal Kumar Sarker, second officer of Rajpara police station, Niranjan was attacked in Kazihata area at around 10am while he was returning home on a motorbike.

A local youth who was sent to jail last year following a complaint by Niranjan made the attack, he said.

Identifying the youth as Saodagar, he said the attack was a sequel to previous enmity.

Masrur was attacked at around 10.30am while he was gossiping with Monimun Nahar, a female intern of RMCH.

Masrur might have been attacked by a rival in the love affair, said Sarker.According to police both doctors hail from Rajshahi.
