US Embassy files case against five Bangladeshis for links to human trafficking

The US Embassy has registered a case against five Bangladeshis for alleged involvement in human trafficking.

US Embassy official Michael Lee registered a case at Gulshan Police Station on Monday.

The accused include Mofizur Rahman, Ashraful Alam Bhuiyan, Mohammad Zaman, Bhasani and Mohammad Noor Alam.

In the matter, Lee said in the statement that Mofizur and Ashraful had gone to the US Embassy for a visa interview on February 11. At one stage of the interview, he confessed to having links with a human trafficking gang.

They mainly act as middlemen. He submitted fake documents to go to America.
