War crimes in Gaza: Israeli airstrikes target Jabaliya refugee camp

A crime occurs when an attack is deliberately carried out against civilians, or if the scale of harm caused to civilians is excessive compared to the military benefit.

The International Criminal Court is the only independent international legal authority that investigates genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity, but Israel is not a member of it.

AFPTV images of Wednesday’s attack on the camp showed widespread damage and rescue workers pulling bloodied casualties from the debris.

The large number of deaths in the attacks are being condemned internationally, in protest against which Bolivia has broken diplomatic relations with Israel.

Jordan recalled its ambassador to Israel “to condemn the Israeli war that is killing innocent people in Gaza”.

UN chief Antonio Guterres is “shocked by the escalating violence in Gaza, including the killing of Palestinians, including women and children, by Israeli air strikes on residential areas of the densely populated Jabaliya refugee camp”, his spokesman Stephane Dujarric said on Wednesday.
