Washington Post executive editor Sally Buzbee steps down amid major restructuring

According to Lewis, Murray will oversee the new division after the election, while “key coverage areas” such as politics, business and features will be overseen by Telegraph Media Group veteran Robert Winnett.

Lewis recently acknowledged that The Washington Post lost a massive amount of about $77 million over the past year, and his cost-cutting efforts include offering to lay off hundreds of employees by the end of 2023.

Lewis has also appointed other former Dow Jones colleagues to key positions at Post Corporate in recent months, the newspaper said.

The controlling shareholder of Dow Jones and the Journal is Rupert Murdoch, whose family also controls the Fox Corporation which runs Fox News.
