Incidentally, the ACC has found that Benazir, her wife and children own 621 bighas of land in Gopalganj, Madaripur, Dhaka and other districts, four flats in Gulshan, 33 bank accounts, shares in 19 companies and three B.O. accounts, as well as savings certificates worth 30 lakh taka (30 lakh taka). Following an appeal by the ACC, the court has ordered the confiscation of all this.
According to law enforcement sources, Benazir Ahmed had left the country on 4 May prior to this court order.
Finance Minister Abul Hassan Mahmud Ali presented the financial budget for 2024-25 in Parliament on Thursday. As per the rule, a press briefing was held the next day on Friday. 10 ministers, state ministers and advisors attended the briefing.
