Now the seven wonders foundation is trying to select natural Seven Wonders of world. After the first round of internet voting they have enabled phone voting, by which one can vote by dialing a specific number and then they have to enter a code to select. Another method is SMS voting. People can vote by sending a SMS to specific number. One can vote as many times as they want. It has emerged that the seven wonders foundation is receiving 0.68 taka for each SMS. Question is where one can vote several times; will the international community recognize the voting result? The seven wonders foundation is earning billions of dollars in the process.
Many people in social networking sites like facebook.com and community blog sites like somewhereinblog.net have raised questions in recent days on the natural seven wonder selection process.
In reply to the governments show cause notice GGBO local partner of the Switzerland based foundation admitted that they have no link with the UNESCO. Now they are saying that their program is like American idol or Indian idol selection process where idol is selected on the basis of voting.
Prominent TV presenter Abdun Noor Tushar says, ‘I myself campaigned for this, but now I realize that I was wrong’. The Parjatan Corporation (Tourism Corporation) also campaigned for Sundarban. It may be a shame for the nation because they (the foundation) were able to fool the nation and the government.
