Through discussions with families, local residents and public representatives, authorities have so far confirmed the identities of 10 victims.
They are Mohammed Nuruzzaman Sardar, also known as Moyna, 30, son of Abu Sardar of Tarapasha village under Kulanj union; Sajidur Rahman, 28, son of Abdul Ghani; Sahan Ehya, 25, son of Islam Uddin – all from Tarapasha village of Kulanj union in Dirai upazila; Mujibur Rahman, 38, son of Abdul Malek, from Rajnagar union of the same upazila; Abu Faheem, son of Faiz Uddin of Kabirnagar village of Dowarabazar upazila; Sohanur Rahman from Chilaura village of Jagannathpur upazila; Shayek Ahmed from Tiergaon village; Mohammad Naeem from Chilaura Kabirpur village; Aminur Rahman from Pailgaon village; And Mohammad Ali from Ichgaon village.
Shahidul Islam, president of Chilaura Haldipur Union Parishad in Jagannathpur upazila, confirmed the death of two persons from his area.
Raniganj Union Parishad member Nurul Islam also confirmed two deaths in his ward. Mijanur Rahman of Pelgaon village told that his brother has died.
Jamal Uddin, convenor of Jubo party in Dowarabazar upazila, confirmed the death of his nephew Abu Faheem.
