105 birds of different species have been recovered from illegal traders of the city’s Mohammadpur, Kaptan Bazar, areas and the outskirts of Tongi yesterday and the day before yesterday. This was a special initiative of Wildlife Management and Nature Conservation department and they have attempted several separate drives to recover the birds.
From Kaptan Bazar and mohammadpur areas they have recovered 43 birds that includes26 parrots, 7 doves and 2 other birds
In the meantime, in another drive in Tongi Bazaar area the department recovered 62 birds of different species including 50 egrets, six parrots, one green pigeon and yesterday.
