Bangladesh Congress, which is contesting the elections for the first time, has seen 11 women candidates submitting nomination papers. Unfortunately, the candidature of three of them has been cancelled. The group secured its registration in September 2019.
The Jatiya Party has nominated 9 women, and notably, none of their candidates have faced cancellation. Party co-chairperson Salma Islam is set to contest from Dhaka 1 and 17 constituencies.
Trinomul BNP, also known as the King’s Party, is contesting the elections for the first time after receiving registration this year. He has nominated 8 women, but the candidature of two of them has been cancelled.
