The Cabinet Department has also made preliminary preparations in this regard.
Following the 12th parliamentary elections on 7 January, the new cabinet was sworn in on 11 January. Since then there is talk that the cabinet will be expanded after the MPs are elected on women reserved seats.
The ruling Awami League nominated 48 candidates for the reserved women seats. The opposition Jatiya Party filed nominations for the remaining two seats in Parliament.
All 50 won unopposed as there were no competitors. A circular was also issued on Tuesday. MPs from reserved seats can join Parliament after taking oath.
Apart from the Prime Minister, there are 25 full ministers and 11 ministers of state in the current cabinet. There is no deputy minister in the 37-member cabinet.
Like this time in the previous cabinet, there were 25-26 full ministers but there were about 20 ministers of state and three deputy ministers. There were altogether 49 members in the previous cabinet.
