The fighting continued from Friday evening to Saturday morning and “complex evacuation operation included hostage rescue operation”, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement.

No group immediately claimed responsibility for the attack, but ethnic Baloch separatist groups have been waging an insurgency against the state in the South-Western Provinces for decades, often targeting security forces.

Pakistan Taliban is also active in this area.

“The terrorists did not even spare children,” the ISPR said. It said that all the six terrorists who entered the compound were killed.
