
Today the 8th October was 21st death anniversary of action hero Abul Khayer Jashim Uddin who started his career in cinema with villain’s role. Is was in 1972. But soon started acting as action hero in Bangladeshi film. His first film was Debor, but Dost Dushmon was the film which actually introduced him to Bangladeshi cinema lovers. Many critics has termed Jashim as the pioneer action hero in Bangladesh. Apart from his role as an actor, Jashim also worked as fight director and producer.
Jashim was born on 14th August, 1950 in Keraniganj area of Dhaka. He participated in 1971 liberation war of Bangladesh. On this day in 1998 he suddenly died from brain haemorrhage. He acted in more than 200 films. He acted with most popular Bangladeshi heroines of his time. Among them his pair with Rojina and Shabana became very popular. Many of his films became box-office hit and he became a legend to Bangladeshi action movie lovers. In fact his role often represented the oppressed section of our society.
