Besides Mufit Hannan, the other death row convicts in the case are Akbar Hussain, Arif Hasan alias Suman, Tajuddin, Jehangir Alam alias Badar, Abu Bakar alias Salim Havaldar, Abdul Hai and Shafiqur Rehman.
Mufti Hannan was hanged in 2017 in the 2004 grenade attack case. Tajuddin, Jehangir and Abdul Hay are still on the run, according to court documents.
The counsel for the convicts, Mohammad Shishir Monir, said that the death reference and appeal of the convicts were placed before three benches of the High Court. But none of the benches completed the hearing.
He said the process would begin after the Chief Justice fixes the bench again.
