The injured persons were identified as 60-year-old Mojibur Rehman, 45-year-old Taibur Rehman, 80-year-old Ansar Zaman, 32-year-old Ibrahim Hussain and 35-year-old Mamun Hussain. He was undergoing treatment at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital.
SI Shakhawat Hussain said that the accident took place at Bakshel area on the Rajshahi-Naugaon highway in Mohanpur upazila at around 10:30 am.
Two people died on the spot, while another succumbed to his injuries on the way to the hospital, the police officer said.
