On July 10, Mamoon’s charred body was recovered from a forest in Rayardiya area of Kaliganj Upazila in Ghazipur district.
Three days after the incident, a murder case was registered at Banani police station following a complaint lodged by her brother Jahangir.
After investigation, on March 31, 2019, the police filed a charge sheet in the court against eight people including Rahmat Ullah and Rabiul Islam.
On November 25, 2021, the court had ordered to start the trial by making a complaint in this matter.
Rahmatullah, along with Inspector Mamoon, had gone to House No. 5 on Banani’s Road 2 to celebrate the birthday of a model.
The accused thrashed Mamoon to death and took the body to Ulukhla in Ghazipur where they poured petrol and set it on fire.
