A new 50 megawatt power plant installed in Ashuganj. Ashuganj Power Station Company Limited (APSCL) on Sunday lunched this 50 megawatt gas engine plant. Their current power generation capacity is raised to 774 MW.

Now the company is supplying power to the national grid on a trial basis, it will run in full swing by the end of this month.

This is an environment friendly plant as this will not release any garbage

The project was taken by the APSCL last year with its own fund. The project cost was  Tk 306 crore. the project was completed through an international tender.

According to APSCL, there are 16 generating units in the newly established Gas Engine Power Plant. It covers 9,080 metre square of land of the power station campus.

The total generation is 53.312 MW. This is generated from constituent parts each of 3.332 MWof electricity. Of these 50 MW will regularly be supplied to the national grid and 3.312 MW will be used for internal purpose of the plant
