Earlier, the police had informed the media that they had raided 285 restaurants on Sunday and Monday and arrested 374 people. Some 204 legal actions were taken.
Mohammad Bilal, a tea shop owner, was arrested from Mohakhali in Dhaka on Tuesday morning. He was produced in the court in the afternoon and released in the evening on payment of fine.
Speaking to Prothom Alo, Mohammed Bilal said, “I am a poor man. I earn my living by selling tea on the street in Mohakhali. I use gas cylinder at my tea shop. In the morning suddenly the police arrested me and took me to the police station. I was handcuffed for the first time in my life.”
