After long 15 years Titli and Konka, the crowd-pleasing characters from Humayun Ahmed sitcom “Aaj Robibar,” are going to be alive on screen after it was reproduced as part of a “Lux Channel i Superstars 2014” pageant. The remake, which portrays only certain parts of the original, was directed by Redoan Rony.
Supriya and Nadia, two contestants of the beauty pageant, will be seen portraying the characters of Titli and Konka respectively, originally portrayed by Meher Afroz Shaon and Shila Ahmed. The lead male character, Aneez, is portrayed by Saju Khadem while Zahid Hasan essayed the role in the original.
The remake of “Aaj Robibar” will be aired on Channel i.
The sitcom revolves around the day-to-day events of an eccentric household consisting of a grandfather, his three socially awkward sons, two granddaughters, a boarder, the male-servant and the maid.
From the eldest brother who remains a bachelor and plays chess with himself, to the servant who tries to peek in through a key-hole and gets squirted with ink on a daily basis, the show is thoroughly entertaining.
