A technician died after falling from a building in Banglamotor in the capital while installing an air conditioner’s outdoor unit. The deceased was identified as Abdus Sabur, an employee of Electro Mart.
The incident occurred on Thursday around 5:40pm. He was rescued in an unconscious state and taken to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.
Masud, a colleague of the deceased, said they worked as AC technicians for Electro Mart. On Thursday afternoon, they were installing air conditioners at the Swopnodhora Complex in Banglamotor. While other workers were inside the building, Abdus Sabur was working on the outdoor AC unit above the first floor. He suddenly fell during the work and sustained critical injuries.
He was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital immediately, but could not be saved.
Sources said Abdus Sabur lived in the Uttara area of the capital and had gotten married two months ago.
Mohammad Faruk, inspector of the police camp at Dhaka Medical College Hospital, said the body has been kept at the hospital morgue in the emergency department. The matter has been reported to the concerned police station.
