According to the new organizational structure, the number of teachers in government colleges will be increased from lecturer to professor

A source present in the meeting said that the standard setup or pattern prepared by the 1987 review committee was discussed in the meeting. As per the hierarchy of public administration, there will be more posts towards the bottom and the number of posts will gradually decrease as one goes up. Therefore, the ministry approved the standard setup with slight changes in the 1987 staffing pattern.

It was also decided in the meeting that a new standard setup will be created by classifying higher secondary, bachelor's degree (pass, subsidiary), bachelor's (honours) and master's level colleges into four different categories – A, B, C and D. The education ministry will propose the classification and then send it to the public administration ministry.

There will be a total of 16 teaching posts in each subject in the colleges offering higher secondary, bachelor's degree (pass, assistant), bachelor's (honours) and masters, which include two posts of professor, three posts of associate professor, five posts of assistant professor and six posts of lecturer.

There will be 10 teaching posts in each subject for colleges offering higher secondary, bachelor's degree (pass, assistant and masters). There will also be 10 teaching posts in each subject for colleges offering higher secondary, bachelor's degree (pass, assistant) bachelor's (honours).
