In such a situation, it is natural to have an atmosphere of unrest and fear in the police department. But this should not be the case for any state police. If someone commits a crime according to the law, then no one should have any objection if legal action is taken against him. But it is the responsibility of the government to provide a safe environment to the concerned people to discharge their professional duties.
In this context, the Police Headquarters has given an assurance that policemen will not be arrested just because cases of murder, attempt to murder and kidnapping are registered against them. Rather, it has been said that there should be solid evidence against them for arrest.
Earlier on September 10, the Police Headquarters had informed all police units that in case of any complaint against any government official or general public, if no evidence is found against them in the preliminary investigation, their name should be removed from the list of accused.
