MD Ali Hussain Faqir has been appointed the new Inspector General of Police (IGP).
He has been promoted to IGP from the rank of Additional Inspector General of Police (Additional IGP), Armed Police Battalion (APBN).
This information was given today, Tuesday, in a notification issued by the Police-1 branch of the Home Ministry.
The notification was signed by Deputy Secretary Tausif Ahmed on the orders of the President.
The notification states that the order issued in public interest will be effective immediately.
Home Ministry sources said that Ali Hussain Faqir is a member of the 15th BCS (Police) cadre. He is from Bagerhat.
