Speaking to Prothom Alo, Zonaid Saki, leader of the Republic Forum, said, “We must take into account a difficult fact. No one will hand us victory on a platter. “No one will bring change without struggle on the streets.”
Leaders of allied parties believe that many people are mentally united against the government. But till now all the parties have not united to enter the fray. It has not been possible to bring the Islamic parties, leftist parties and other democratic parties which are not with the government together into the movement or to associate them with the movement in any other way. There are some shortcomings in bringing people from all classes and professions into the movement. There is still a lack of bringing students, youth, laborers and the general movement on the streets.
However, some leaders believe that this shortcoming has been addressed to some extent by four separate conferences of students, youth, workers and professionals held recently. He believes that barring some isolated incidents, BNP’s movement and programs are on the right track.
Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) President Oli Ahmed believes that BNP is the largest political party in the country and it is natural that there will be some minor errors in the movement. People will always make mistakes. BNP is running its movement with full honesty and commitment. The LDP is joining as a small component of the movement.
