He said that Awami League is an organization created by the hands of the Father of the Nation and this organization was born through the movements to establish the rights of the people of Bangladesh.
Therefore, the party has to be strengthened keeping this in mind, he told Awami League leaders and workers.
The ruling Awami League chief asked the affluent of his party to come forward to help the dedicated but bankrupt party workers in their respective areas.
He said that there are many bankrupt workers in Awami League who do politics till selling their ancestral land but never want anything.
Sheikh Hasina said that many people, including Ayub Khan, Zia, Ershad and Khaleda Zia, wanted to destroy the Awami League, but could not do so because the party had a large number of dedicated workers.
Talking about the global economic slowdown, he said that his government is trying its best to keep the economy alive and doing austerity in initiating and implementing development projects.
He said that “We are giving importance to those projects which are very urgent. And we are speedily completing the implementation of those projects which will invite the benefit of the people.”
