Dhaka Art Centre will hold a solo photography exhibition, titled “Calcutta-Kolkata” — featuring photos of noted Bangladeshi photographer Anwar Hossain. The exhibition will be inaugurated on November 1 and will continue till November 13.
Sanjay Bhattacharya, Deputy High Commissioner of India, will inaugurate the exhibition as chief guest. Shaheen Reza Noor, assistant editor of the daily Ittefaq and publicity secretary, Bangladesh-India Friendship Association, will be present as special guest. Poet Belal Chowdhury will preside over the programme. The exhibition will be sponsored by Cat’s Eye.
Hossain has been a photographer since 1967 and a cinematographer since 1977. He has won 60 international awards in photography, and has been an associate of RPS, UK since 1989; of FIAP, Belgium and IIPC, Delhi since 1991.He has 15 films and 30 documentaries to his credit, apart from eight major photo books.
