Arteta, who won two league titles as Guardiola’s assistant at City, suggested he would need a radical rethink in strategy.
The former Gunners midfielder said it is important that the team is able to adapt to changing conditions within a match.
“We do that every game in some areas,” he said. “Are you talking about ball possession, out of possession, in transition, on a restart, on a set piece, in an emotional state?
“You have to change it up all the time. Every opponent asks you different things and questions you and gives you different chances.
“There’s no difference with that team (City), it’s clearly the quality of opponent is as good as it gets anywhere in the world.”
