Asian title and fast bowlers boosted India’s confidence: Rohit

In the Super Force, India defeated arch-rivals Pakistan by 228 runs to score 356–2, before defending 213 against Sri Lanka to reach the final.

“The nature of this pitch here is challenging and also unpredictable. Siraj has to be mentioned here because when the pitch is so dry, it takes a special skill set to turn the ball like that.”

The batsmen shone for India after Virat Kohli and the returning KL Rahul scored centuries against Pakistan in the Super Four and Rohit praised their all-round effort.

“Guys can stand up to pressure and work for the team and the same applies to the bowlers,” Rohit said of his team’s all-round performance.

“Our fielding was excellent in this series. Catches were taken against the fast bowlers. Off days on the field are fine for us, provided you back it up with a solid performance the next day.”

Before going to the World Cup, India will play three ODI matches against Australia on its home ground and its first match will be against the Australian team on October 8.
