At least 50 people have died in Congo’s capital Kinshasa after heavy rains triggered floods and landslides, city police chief Silvano Kasongo said on Tuesday.
Images shared online, which could not be immediately verified, showed entire neighborhoods covered in muddy water and paved roads torn by sinkholes.
“We are already at about fifty deaths and it is not yet final,” said Kasongo.
