Earlier on Tuesday, the UN Palestinian refugee agency UNRWA said at least six people were killed in an Israeli airstrike on one of its schools that was serving as a shelter for displaced people.
Health officials in Gaza say at least 3,000 people have been killed in Israel’s 11-day bombardment since Hamas fighters ransacked Israeli towns and kibbutzes on October 7, including more than 1,300. Mainly civilians are involved.
