According to the police, Kayum Chowdhary reached Syedpur bus terminal from his work place by bus on Tuesday afternoon carrying about 375000 taka in a bag.
He then took an auto-rickshaw to reach his residence at Niyapatpur Sarkarpara. After this he left the auto rickshaw and went home, but forgot to take the bag of money. Moments later, when he realized his mistake, Kayum Chowdhary started looking for an auto-rickshaw.
Meanwhile the auto rickshaw driver Mo Chutu returned to the city. When he was crossing the Munshipara intersection on Bangababandhu Marg in the town, a bag full of money fell from the vehicle on the road. Chutu then stops the auto rickshaw, checks the bag and finds the cash.
