Awami League’s contenders in the elections are itself and its allies.

12th The Jatiya Sangsad elections are to be held tomorrow, Sunday. Awami League is the main party in this election. The Awami League as well as independent candidates from the party are the major contenders. Outside this are the coalition partners, allies and some close parties led by the ruling party. Then there are some leaders who have defected from the BNP and some who are candidates from “King’s parties”. Almost all of them have participated in the elections after receiving assurances of cooperation from various sectors associated with the Awami League and the government.

It has become clear from the latest election situation that the Parliament to be formed after the January 7 voting will largely include Awami League leaders and party supporters. The rest are also coming from among people considered close to the Awami League and the government. To put it in words, it is clear that the coming Parliament will be limited to the supporters of one party.
