A reputed bakery and sweet maker Modhubon of port city Chittagong was fined eighty thousand taka by a mobile court of Chittagong City Corporation today.
The mobile court expressed their disappointment that Modhubon is a well known bakery and it is not acceptable from such a big bakery, even minimum standards was maintained by them.
The court found that biscuits and sweets were being produced in very unhygienic conditions. The plates where the biscuits were being prepared were so dirty; dirt on the plate was as black as Mobil. Garbage was also seen in kitchen.
The bakery is given fifteen days to improve conditions; otherwise it will be sealed by the authority.
The mobile court was led by magistrate Joynal Abedin. The raid was conducted from 12.00 pm to 1:30 pm.
