Bangladesh and Gambia discuss boosting agri trade ties

A bilateral meeting was held on Friday between Foreign Minister Dr. Hassan Mahmoud and Foreign Minister of The Gambia, Dr. Mamadou Tangara, on the sidelines of the OIC 15th Pre-Summit Preparatory Foreign Ministers' Meeting held in Banjul, Gambia.

The Foreign Minister of Gambia expressed his deep appreciation to the Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina for showing solidarity with the Muslim Ummah by hosting Rohingya refugees displaced from Myanmar in Bangladesh. According to a media release on Saturday, he also thanked the Bangladesh government for financial assistance in the Rohingya genocide case.

Hassan congratulated the Gambian Foreign Minister for chairing the Preparatory Foreign Ministers' Meeting for the 15th OIC Summit and looked forward to working together to enhance cooperation in various areas of the OIC during Gambia's Chairmanship.

During the courtesy call, Hassan expressed satisfaction over the existing friendly relations between the two countries and discussed with the Gambian Minister the export of manpower in the agriculture sector from Bangladesh and enhancing bilateral cooperation in trade and investment.
